While most of us have been out of school for years, there are still plenty of test results that make us anxious. If you’ve noticed changes in your hearing abilities, schedule a audiology hearing test with us. We carry out a series of assessments to assess the form and degree of hearing loss, which is critical when developing an individualized treatment plan.

We start with a consultation

We will discuss your hearing condition against your medical background and answer questions you may have before testing. Because various medical conditions can cause hearing loss, such as head injuries, ear infections, allergies, and even head colds, we need to learn about your medical history.

We run a series of audiology hearing tests

Hearing tests are painless and non-invasive. We will run one or more of the following tests:

Pure Tone Audiometry: This test involves listening to tones at various volumes and pitches. The sounds are played through a pair of headphones; you'll be told to signal whenever you hear a sound.
Speech Audiometry: This test is used to assess the softest sounds you can hear and understand. Words and phrases are played through headphones, and you are asked to repeat them.
Tympanometry: This test measures your auditory reflexes. A soft plug is inserted in your ear to monitor pressure changes, and sounds are played into your ears.

We provide treatment

Following the hearing test, we’ll review your results with you. Looking at the audiogram (a visual representation of your hearing abilities), we will determine whether a hearing loss is present. If a hearing loss is detected, we will explain the type, degree, and configuration of the hearing loss. From there, we will prescribe a suitable treatment plan.
